Summer 2015 Preview

Well as slow as the winter months were, it warmed up fast around here, and the summer is nearly upon us. So what is in store for me this year? Well, quite a few goodies, actually, including the third season of Symphogear and the anime adaptation of the most excellent manga Monster Musume. What else do I have my eyes on?

Confirmed
Senki Zesshou Symphogear GX Hype hype hype hype HYPE HYPE. Sorry, but fuck me, this franchise has been nothing short of awesome, harking back to some of the early Nanoha days of wearable-tech action and seriously awesome music. I’ve used all of Hibiki’s songs at least once for ringtones because they’re that great, and Chris is the icing on the cake. The second season introduced more relic users and put them on the other side of the fence for awhile, before righting them in time for the RAINBOW FINALE. What will this season hold? Well, considering that Hibiki is no longer dying of FUSION HA but retains her powers from taking Maria’s Black Gungnir I suppose this one is either going to focus on THE SENTINEL Tsubaki, or on some new external threat all six users will face. I was personally hoping for a timeskip of sorts, with an older Biki-Butt and Chris-Tits, but we’ll see what happens.
Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou Manga readers will know how excite this is to get an adaptation finally of what I wouldn’t consider to be the best manga, but certainly one of the more unique entries to the under-one-roof harem trope. It’s a bunch of monster girls living with one guy, and it’s pretty awesome. Now, the curious thing I want to know, is if we’re going to get uncensored animal parts, or lens flare. I’d prefer the former, because I am not twelve and I can handle that shit, especially on snakes, horses, birds, and goo-girls.
Working!!! The third season of one of my personal favorites, the everyday-occupational nightmare of food service. It was way funnier back when I actually worked in food service, having moved on to IT now, but it’s still relevant. AM I POPLAR YET? I sure as hell hope so.
Dragon Ball Super As much as I want to pretend that Dragonball is silly and for anime babbys, it still has a small special piece of my animu heart for those dirty apes and their special blond hair. For a brand-new show to come along, that isn’t GT, and not a remake or remaster, holy shit let’s fucking do this. I’m game.
Non Non Biyori Repeat It’s a cute show about cute girls in the countryside. The refreshing slice of pie after you’ve AMERIFATTED OUT.

Plausible
Okusama ga Seito Kaichou! “But when a beautiful girl swings in promising the liberalization of love while flinging condoms into the audience–” Hell, I knew a girl in high school who did that, except she taped them underneath everyone’s seat, then later on used an air compressor to blow some up and tie them to the antennas of cars. I’m sufficiently intrigued.
Classroom ☆ Crisis An original about kids on Mars doing what I presume to be MECHANICAL THINGS. We’re not getting another Stellvia any time soon, so this is worth a look.
Gakkou Gurashi! Livechart has this marked horror, what horror comes from school club hijinks? Guess I’ll have to find out.
Charlotte Special powers eh? It’s a thing I am told.
Kangoku Gakuen Ah, the JCSTAFF entry for the season seems to be a guys-going-to-girls-school, no doubt a more serious attempt at Seitokai Yakuindomo. I guess we’ll see where this takes us.

Questionable
Chaos Dragon: Sekiryuu Senyaku Silver Link original about war and animal-ear girls. Hmm…
Joukamachi no Dandelion Sounds interesting, but also sounds like a 4koma-style Big Brother. If these are short episodes, I might pick it up for filler.
Akagami no Shirayuki-hime Sounds like Doctor Quinn: Medicine Woman: The Anime, but being a Bones manga adaptation, might be worth a preview.
Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan Looks like another magical anime about magical bullshit against INVADERS. But hey, occasionally they work.
Danchigai A short show based on a 4koma, but 1guy-4girls. Might be worth filler.
Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai I don’t even know what this is, Social Justice Warriors: The Anime? I think I might stick with JCSTAFF’s other show.

Busted
Durarara!!×2 Ten Haven’t seen the first.
To Love-Ru: Trouble – Darkness 2nd Have never seen any of it. I know, right?
Bikini Warriors Nah, I mean, I like fanservice as much as the next guy, but this sounds like this is a literal buffet of fanservice. Pass.
