Fall 2013 Watch List

Fall2013preview

If something is not pictured but in the list below, it’s because I am lazy and didn’t want to expand it. I also may not get to those as time permits.

Automatic Systematic
Freezing: Vibration – If you managed to watch this during the Winter 2011, then good for you. If you went and read the manga, even better for you. The manga really is so much better than the first season, but I have a feeling being sandwiched in with so much other mediocrity at the time, it never got a chance to really OWN FACE like it should. So I am really hyped for this one to be really good.

Kakumeiki Valvrave S2 – Even though it was a pretty much complete re-telling of Gundam SEED, by the end it was so much fuckwin that I actually wanted to see more, and thankfully we did not have to wait very long. They ended the first season on some pretty crazy fucked up shit, so here is hoping it pans out.

Seems Legit

Kill La Kill – With such a strong staff backing, you’d think this might be pretty good. Certainly anything that involves girls and swords is enough to interest me.

Infinite Stratos 2 – I liked the first season of IS, but at the same time I loathed parts of it for being dimwitted and slow. Still, Char was a Char and anytime Houki Pouki’d it made for amusing conversation. I’m more interested to see how they do with a second chance, years later, after shows like Symphogear, Vividred, and Witches, showed them how you do girl-powered-suits.

Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio -Ars Nova- – I always enjoy good alternate reality stories, especially involving robots, tanks, mechs, and that sort. This looks interesting from many angles, but a submarine crew? Is this the underwater sequel to Starship Operators?

Coppelion – Is this how Japan deals with Fukushima? I mean, okay, but you’re involving SCIENCE here, so don’t be surprised if I laugh.

Kyoukai no Kanata – KyoAni, what are you doing? You can’t be a SHAFT! Go home and be a family show.

Kikou Shoujo wa Kizutsukanai – Is this like the 2013 version of Saber Marionette J? I’d be okay with that.

Cute Girls Doing Cute Things

Golden Time – JC STAFF, so it involves some non-standard elements, but probably going to be Railgun minus the rail AND the gun.

Non Non Biyori – Is this going to be Gin no Saji without the farm?

Nagi no Asukara – You can always count on PA Works to at least make it look nice.

Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love Come o Zenryoku de Jama Shiteiru – Not SNAFU. That’s good.

Maybe

Little Busters Refrain – If this isn’t based on the story I think it is, I am dropping it, because fuck the first season was just too much FRED-CHAN for me to watch.

Outbreak Company – It looks and sounds too good to be true, with that almost-Zero no Tsukaima feel to it, or any other parallel universe series.

Galilei Donna

Storia di tre sorelle a caccia di un mistero – Galileo Galilei’s three cute descendants fight Tycho Brahe’s evil offspring in this scientific battle anime. [citation needed] -Jinx

Hmm…

Tokyo Ravens – Anything that involves Zombie Deskcar’s director makes me want to know and not at the same time. But it might be good.

Log Horizon – Can’t say this hasn’t been done before, but it’s been at least ten years since then, so I guess I might give this premise another shot.

Strike the Blood – Can Silver Link go from Watamote to something that amounts to Maou-sama without Chiho?

NOPE

Gundam Build Fighters – Yeah, I tried that once. It was bad.
Pokemon XY – Haven’t watched a Pokemon since the first, and the only reason to watch was Misty.
Everything else.

So it looks like it won’t be a high-powered season of big-names like the last, but it looks like it won’t be a boring season. Will make this post look nicer later.
