I’m still holding off on writing a more formal endgame post on G-QUACKS after the final episode, of what I assume will be a cour, unless Anno is really going to end this bullshit on a single twelve-episode run and ride off into the sunset. I would not blame him. But after voicing my disappointment to the series thus far three weeks ago, it’s almost as if the man knew, and was waiting to play his trap card. Motherfucker.

The suitposters on Facebook have concocted some interesting theories on Lalah Sune’s appearance in this week’s episode, and at first I was going to spoiler tag it, but then I thought, all of this is too fucking Anno-vague to give a shit about spoiler tags. Plus, you’ve seen this shit before in any manner of other shows that have done multiverse-dimensional-spacetime-bullshit. Doctor Strange, Rick and Morty, Madoka, Final Space, Infinity Train, Star Trek, are just a few off the top of my head. Most of those have featured a character crawling through space-time and infinite dimensions to find the one fucking reality where the bad thing doesn’t happen.
And I’ll be honest, I kind of don’t like that here. We have subsisted just fine for forty-six years knowing that Lalah Sune accidentally got-got by Amuro and became One with the Force just as Obi-Wan did in Star Wars Episode IV. G-Quacks coming along and peering through the looking glass at a reality where Char stole the Gundam along with White Base, and Zeon won the OYW made for an interesting premise. Except they spent the first six episodes fucking around with two girls and a homeless bum, discarded the bum, split the girls between differing factions of Zeon ala Double-Zeta, and are now introducing this possibility that Lalah Prime didn’t die, but instead wound up in the bottom of the ocean of the G-Quacks universe in her Elmeth, paralyzed by whatever a zekanova actually is, and has been omnipresently scouring the multiverse for… Char? Amuro? Both of them? Does this mean that the Axis Shock is her finally finding them and living happily ever after?

I am cautiously curious as to what is going to happen in these final episodes, but boy howdy, the fan reactions are probably even more absurd than what Anno is going to do. I mean, look at this shit. He thinks the maids are Amuro and Char. This whole fucking show people have been superimposing these two on every character and robot. EVERYTHING IS A CHAR!
HAMAN’S DILDO IS A CHAR!
