So what is on-deck for this winter? Aside from the obvious Dog Days third season and Aldnoah second season, its slim-pickings from the rest, but we always make this work out somehow.

Dog Days” I’ve written a bit about the previous two seasons, but I’m impressed a three-year franchise has kept going this long, and it has certainly been one of my most enjoyable ones in that time. I’ve read the focus on this one shifts around characters each episode, with more coming in. The cast is pretty large as is, so my only concern is they’re going to sort of StrikerS this and dilute the current cast. We’ll see how that flies.
Aldnoah.Zero We saw how last season ended, so I am curious to see how this season starts. I’ve learned well from other sci-fi shows that death is a silly thing when you’re in space, so I’m not counting either of them out. That said, while I did love the music, AZ was an overall disappointment. But hey, trainwrecks are trainwrecks. Might as well see it through.

Absolute Duo It seems a little Soul Eater to me, and being an LN adaptation, not sure if want. 8-bit’s record on that is Oh-for-Infinite Stratos. However you have a director responsible for Nanoha StrikerS and the Nanoha movies. Troublesome.
KanColle I never got into the game, because I couldn’t find the time/effort to get into the damn thing, but since I enjoyed Arpeggio, I remained interested in the supposed anime. Here’s hoping it will be interesting and not just a cash grab.
Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata With the director of Usagi Drop and Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru, this has a 50/50 chance of being decent, depending on how they work with the premise of comics and such.
RollingāGirls Probably not Sons of Anarchy, but a slice-of-life on wheels? From the director of Gin no Saji S2 and the studio responsible for Shingeki no Kyojin comes HELL’S ANGELS: CUTE GIRLS DOING CUTE THINGS ON YOUR (HOT) ROD.
Junketsu no Maria There is a lot of Gundam/Geass talent in here, so I’m expecting some interesting-ness out of a premise of magic and attempts to bed a witch. Trigger Warning: Junk.
Shinmai Maou no Testament By god, if this isn’t the second-coming of DxD Christ, I will surely be disappointed. Hell, its director was key animation for episode twelve, among a pile of other shows. That should count for something, I hope.
Koufuku Graffiti SHAFT’s entry this season is about food. Well, its no Yakitate Japan!, but it’ll do.
Questionable
Yuri Kuma Arashi By that preview picture, it’s almost Shugo Chara! all over again, but with a director known for Sailor Moon and based on a popular yuri author’s manga, this will either be something interesting, or something way off my mark.
Juuou Mujin no Fafnir This smells too much like Infinite Stratos with the whole “only male dragon” bit. LN adaptation? Whoo boy.
Seiken Tsukai no World Break Diomedea sure if bringing the LN heat this season, and with it another school series seemingly like Soul Eater and IS. It’s like I used to tell my friends way back when we played Star Wars The Roleplaying Game. Not every game has to start in a bar.
Isuca I did actually like ARMS’ Ikkitousen series, and while I am not implying this will be that, it’s not a studio name that comes up often. That said, for a manga adaptation, maybe yes, maybe no? I do like bow-and-arrow archers.

Tantei Kageki Milky Holmes TD I really did put my best foot forward with the first seasons, but it’s really just the same damn thing, over and over. I get it, that’s the gimmick, it’s like the time I like the time I like the time I Family Guy, but would it hurt to break the mold just once?
Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu Love! Oh god, is this a magical boy series? Nope. Sorry. Call me sexist, but I prefer my magical girls. Comic book superheros can be women, but pink-frilly magical superheros can’t be men.
Sailor Moon Crystal S2 I know I wrote about the first episode that one time, but that was because I was really bored and wanted to see what the fuss was about. Still nope.
