New season, new ways to scratch your head at just how strange and perverted Japan really is with anime.

The question is, which one to choose?
If this is how magical girl scenes are, sign me the fuck up

Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt is plain strange and hilarious. It’s basic premise is two girls, Panty, who is obnoxious and a whore, and Stocking, who looks goth and loves sweets. Together with Garter, their leader and priest, and Chuck, who looks and acts like Gir from Invader Zim they collect coins from monsters they defeat with holy weapons made from Panty’s panties and Stocking’s stockings.

I can draw so many similarities and related material to this series. The art style is something akin to American comic books, with words on the screen spelling out actions and sound effects, and it also resembles The Powerpuff Girls, both US and Japanese versions. The story itself seems to be like if you took Charlie’s Angels, Supernatural (which is getting its own anime sometime soon I’ve read) and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and smashed them all together and replaced the characters with the most crude female counterparts you can find.

Suffice to say, this one is an /a/ favorite right now, and I can kind of see why.

Nine ways of Sunday, if I was into that sort of thing.
Quite possibly the scariest character in the series. I'd hit it.

Sora no Otoshimono: Forte pretty much picks up where the last one left off, two angels, three humans, and The New World Discovery Club. Aside from brief re-introductions of the characters, largely depicted in this episode by their dreams, the end of the episode sets the stage for what will likely be the focus of this series, another possibly arrival of an angel and no doubt more of a look into the world they came from.

Or you just get a lot of fanservice. As an additional bonus, they used the same opening as the first, only with Tomoki instead of Ikaros. How nice of them.

Oh this series can go places
Koromo: All Grown Up

MM! can be roughly construed as something along the lines of any harem series and Ladies x Butlers!, another harem series. Here you have a guy who enjoys being a masochist, almost too much, and his best friend who apparently likes to cross-dress. Add a girl who looks and acts like Koromo from Saki and another girl who seems to also be violent as needed and you have a series that honestly reminded me of Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan. I’m a bit skeptical about this one, so it’s starting out with a 6 for now. We’ll see where this goes.

Super Robot Taisen OG: The Inspector raw is out, but no word yet on who is subbing it. Since it’s a Bandai title, AnimeSuki doesn’t list it so all I have to go on to find is TT and Nyaa. The rest of the list probably starts within the next week, so stay tuned for more new series.

Saimoe Round 3 is almost over and I’ve been getting pretty burned in this round. Shana beat Nanoha, Maria lost to Nodo-tits, and Kanade was beat by Yamada. Was hoping to at least keep a 75% successful prediction rate for the entire tournament considering I didn’t do too bad in the first and second rounds. I spent the better part of this morning trying out some ideas on a poster for the next round. I can’t seem to come up with anything I like yet, though I have one working template saved. Maybe a little shooting dudes in Borderlands will help.
