Unfortunately judging from the list, there really isn’t a whole lot that catches my eye at first glance. But, I haven’t been in the scene for about a year now, so I might be missing the COOL and EDGY trends of these kids today. I am also trying to keep the list short so as not to have to keep up with a bunch of shows. My focus this year is on QUALITY and not quantity. Gonna try to flesh out more substantial posts on what is being watch. Key word: Try.

ChäoS;Child – I don’t think I ever wrote about Chaos;Head, or if I did I cannot find it. I watched it because it had ties to Robotics;Notes and Steins;Gate, one of my favorite time-travel shows-I’ve-yet-to-play-the-game-of-still. Head was pretty fucked up, so I reasonably expect Child to be fucked up as well. So I’m going to say confirmed, but we’ll see how this pans out.
Plausible
Demi-chan wa Kataritai – I am imagining this as if Monster Musume did a spin-off where all the various animal and monster girls attended a school. So maybe this one is less animal and more monster, which I guess makes it more like Disgaea: School Days? I’m intrigued enough to give it a shot.
ēlDLIVE – So, Tenchi Muyo’s Galaxy Police meets Nanoha minus all the things that made Nanoha great? I might be down for this. I only wish it was more like ServantxService in space and maybe less action-y, but SPACESPACEGOTTAGOTOSPACE or something.
Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon – I have zero expectations other than for this to just be cute and funny.
Urara Meirochou – I’ve been out of the loop on past JC STAFF entries, but this one seems to fit alongside KyoAni’s Tamako Market in that look-and-feel department, without me actually watching an episode. It’s worth a try.
Questionable
Masamune-kun no Revenge – If there is one thing anime doesn’t do often, is have Amerifat characters in their shows. There are a handful of exceptions, but it’s what you expect from a country where being fat means you’ll just star in a lot of porn westerners want. So at first I thought this was going to just be a girl fat-shaming a guy for thirteen episodes. Stick it to that patriarchy! Then it says “Nah bro, he gets SWOLE and comes back for DAT ASS.” Oh, well. Not nearly as exciting. But it might be worth a watch for those sweet life lessons we’re sure to learn.
One Room – With no description, I’m making this one a curiosity pick.
