Her Body is Ready

[HorribleSubs] Rozen Maiden (2013) - 09 [720p].mkv_snapshot_20.20_[2013.09.02_19.26.44]

It’s been a busy summer, between work and things I hate about my car, there is never a dull moment here. I try to hit the major shows each week, but I’m just finding myself in that usual close-to-the-end-of-the-season burn out. But I’ll try to throw out a few shows this week of particular note.

No, Sugintou, no one is as broken as you.
No, Sugintou, no one is as broken as you.
Rozen Maiden
“INCOMING DESU!”
Kira makes her move, but Suiseiseki comes in to block Shinku and Sugintou from attacking, somehow, that body is Souseiseki? TWIST.

Not really, if you’ve read the manga you know what happens, but for those who haven’t, I won’t spell it out here, but it’s a pretty good scene. Nearing the end of the run here, I have to say that when I feared Studio DEEN doing this I wasn’t fully aware they were going off the second manga, and after the first episode and the art, I was actually impressed with their direction on it, they put a lot of detail into the doll’s face and features, and still from time-to-time “called back” to the “chibi” scenes the first series made famous. So if any of you were still on the fence about watching this because of >DEEN, discard that and watch this.

This sort of thing always happens. Right?

Gin no Saji
“Nothing woos the women like being able to milk cows.”
Silver Spoon is probably the most consistent show this season, because it doesn’t really disappoint, or astonish at the same time. Despite that, it’s still a pretty good eye into FARM LIFE, if you’re into that sort of thing. If I wasn’t reading Hayate, I’d probably get on this manga and get ahead of air. But reasons.

GASP
GASP
Genshiken Nidaime
“Next week on One Life to Live…”
Yeah, I’m still skimming Genshiken, even though I’ve read ahead in the manga. I don’t know why, really, it’s nothing really requiring me to see it animated when it isn’t much different from the manga, but when Saki comes in that might be amusing to see in motion. I guess.

KONGOU ATTACK~
KONGOU ATTACK~
Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S
“They run on Windows ME.”
We’re slowly shifting back from Fillergun to AWESOMEgun, maybe? Some shit happens in this episode, and that should set us up for the final episodes here which will no doubt pit Misaka against ITEM and Misaki. Mind you I’ve never read the manga for this, so I’m going in blind. I trust it will be a good end, because Railgun disappointed me.

I AM THE MASTER

Stella Jogakuin Koutouka C3-bu
“I don’t need you anymore. I have become the Destroyer of Airsofts”
I really, really did not want to go down this path. I just wanted cute girls playing airsoft. Adding this layer of complexity to the story, while valid, just turns me away from the fun of the show. Someone who knows better explains it in better detail, but I was never a competitive person in any game I’ve played, which made me super lousy at sports as a kid and even more lousy at real life now. “Modding” is something that occurs in all spaces, and it occurs because people refuse to lose. Winning is a drug for them, they have to be on top, they have to be seen, and they will glitch, hack, scam, and cheat their way to the top at any cost. It’s rather sad really, because I’d rather get to the top of something having done everything in my power to reach it, but also with the respect of those who are trying to reach it with me. It’s one of the reasons I won’t return to World of Warcraft, aside from it being a really mediocre game, it’s become criminally easy to level, and the endgame is just complete bullshit now. Before I quit in 2008-2009 I was increasingly fed up with the endgame guilds on my server. A game should never become a full-time job, nor should the process to join a guild amount to filling out a professional job application. I understand guilds try to look for good players, and it’s hard to weed out the good from the bad, but like any professional developers might say, it’s easier to develop a person into what you need than it is to constantly turn over people looking for the “right” person. Most people are willing to learn when it means they’re having fun, not being forced to spend 80 hours a week playing a fucking video game. Real people ain’t got time fo’ dat.

Ohohoho, the teacher is in on it too? GASP.
Ohohoho, the teacher is in on it too? GASP.
Kami no mizo Shiru Sekai Megami-Hen
“You’ve found the cave of wonders, Aladdin.”
With almost all of the Goddesses found, Keima’s focus is on the final two prospects, Ayumi and Chihiro. Down in New Hell, Haqua has unfortunately found herself jailed for speaking out about their attackers. Elsewhere, the festivities start around school, making things difficult for The Capturing God.

Much like the other shows I’ve read ahead, it’s difficult to sit here and be like GASP when I know what happens. I’m over here just being like PLZ BE NEXT CHAPTER :3 on the current arc. But hey, for those of you who haven’t, this is some good shit they’re getting to in the show, so stick around for it.

Still waiting on this week’s Symphogear. Commie put out 7 and 8 last week, and I thought they might be back on track, but we’re out to Monday now and still no sub. I went and watched the raw, it’s some pretty good shit, especially at the end. Still to catch up on is MJP, Love Lab, DxD, and Watamote. I’ve effectively dropped Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku for the moment, it was just sort of extra and wasn’t catching my attention. I might go back and finish it later on. I also will get started on the next season of anime this week. I already know FREEZING 2 will be on my docket, because fuck yes Stella you are the best, and if Little Busters Refrain is what I think it is, count me in on that.

Until next time… month… week… something…
